Cat N Check

Cat N means the car had non-structural damage and the insurer decided not to repair it. It can go back on the road without re-registering. Cat N cars are often cheaper, so you should know before you agree a price.

Free to look up. You see the basic details before you choose to pay.

What Cat N means for buyers

Cat N (non-structural) replaced older Cat D style decisions after October 2017.

The free DVLA enquiry does not tell you if a car is Cat N. Run a write off check with the plate, confirm the vehicle details, then continue if you want the full report.
